When is Emsi Data Updated?

Emsi has several different types of data with different update schedules.

Core LMI

Emsi updates the core data twice per year with the latest data available. These updates are called Dataruns. These are the target dates for Emsi’s 2021 dataruns:

• 2021.1: 5/28/21
• 2021.3: 10/29/21

Emsi’s Data team constantly checks for and downloads new government data as it becomes available from each of our sources (e.g. Statcan updates SEPH monthly and Emsi’s data team downloads the releases as they come available).

Emsi publishes release notes with every datarun, outlining major changes and data updates. The release notes can be found here.

Job Postings

Emsi Job Postings data is re-flowed roughly every two weeks. These re-flows can occur to take advantage of improvements in various taggers, such as the skills and company taggers; or to incorporate a new month’s job postings (usually occurs a few days into a new month).

The JPA Changelog contains information on what changes were made to JPA, as well as the date on which the re-flow occurred.
